Excitement Afoot

Last year when I began sharing my art publicly and offering it for sale it felt like a huge leap of faith, everything was new for me, but as stepping stones begin to emerge along my path it feels less of a leap and more like a walking path. Working toward my goal of being a full time artist, spreading light, love, and happiness one painting at a time, has its moments of uncertainty, leaps of faith, but also plenty of excitement as I see ideas I only visualized before come to fruition. I’m so glad I started down this road because its taken me places I only dreamed of before. Patience is definitely an important characteristic on this journey, but I find persistence to be patience’s best friend.

I am dipping my toes in the pool of custom merchandise, and I’m really happy with the beginning results. I recently received my first batch of magnets with one of my favorite paintings, Bloom!, on them. Besides these and my notecards I now have wonderful handmade bookmarks featuring canvas prints on felted wool. I’m also awaiting the arrival of tumbled stone tiles any day now. Its pretty exciting when you see your work reproduced in a quality product, making art more affordable to consumers in the general public. Not everybody wants to invest in a canvas, but everybody enjoys art that puts a smile on their face, adds beauty to their surroundings, and lifts their spirits. Every time I open my fridge now I have a little piece of beauty added to my day, I can’t help but smile. I will always have canvases  to brighten your home or work environment, just more options to spread the joy now. So much fun! Look for these soon on my website.

The other exciting news is that I will be hanging my art for Last Friday’s Art Walk in downtown Hillsborough this week. The Art Walk is this Friday 5/29/15 from 6-9ish. I’ll have the whole room to myself as the featured artist at Carolina Wellness Institute, 121 Margaret Lane Hillsborough. Having a solo exhibit is a first for me and it really feels different than having a painting or two as a part of a show. I’m excited to put my Art on the walls and share it with all the revelers on Friday night as they are enjoying Art, friends, tasty food, and wonderful music in downtown Hillsborough. Its a great time, if you are from our area, come enjoy yourself and be sure to stop by Carolina Wellness Institute and say hello!

Living my life in full color, out loud for all to see, following my intuition, taking risks, being authentic and true to myself, not being afraid to fail, practicing gratitude, and loving every day of life ~ this is where my dream has taken me so far. I can’t wait to see the years unfold!
